Partnership is something important for most people. When we chose to be in functional relationships with romantic partners, that covers many needs: belongingness, security, safety, support to manage difficulties, active sexual life, communication, high life expectancy. Furthermore, when there is a healthy relationship, emotional resilient individuals tend to do better on their life’s responsibilities: professionally, financially, socially, and personally.

How is a relationship created and maintained? A relationship is a process where two partners collaborate and contribute to the its evolution and growth with a continuous participation, investment, and attempts to stabilize and grow oneself as well as the relationship. Devotion, mutual respect and understanding, and trust are imperative ingredients for a functional relationship. For a relationship to be maintained, a triadic care is required: that of thyself, that of our partner, and that of the relationship.

During our university life, it is expected to experience feelings of sexual attraction towards different people. Our sexual identity is very personal and unique for each one of us. Some of us are attracted from the opposite, same, or both sexes. During our college life we tend to experiment with what we like and excited us in that area. It is crucial to know what is functional and dysfunctional for us, and to have the skills to set boundaries when we dislike something or we do not desire it.
