Time management

Time management is a skill that helps you take control of your life. If you procrastinate and waste time on trivial matters, then you feel off schedule, lose yourself in homework and reading, and feel like you're falling behind. Lost time cannot be regained!

HOW TO WASTE TIME:

  • Trying to multitask: Taking on multiple tasks, multiple classes, and committing to social obligations.
  • Procrastination: When you leave for tomorrow what can be done today
  • Perfectionism: When you feel that everything has to be perfect or that you have to do it yourself
  • When you can't say no: Favors asked of you, events, social
  • Personal disorganization: Cluttered desk, poor study skills, lack of planning
  • Absurd time calculation
  • Lack of self-definition
  • Various annoyances/interruptions
  • Melancholy
  • Fear of failure

HOW TO MANAGE YOUR TIME BETTER

  • Make a list of the categories that are important to you such as health (physical and psychological), social life, studies. You will find about 10-20 important ones. The list should express you
  • Write down goals for the future: The list above will give you ideas.
  • There are only 24 hours in your day, just like everyone else. So how do you end up frustrated, angry, back at work and overworked? Maybe because you don't know how to use these 24 hours properly.
  • If you feel like your day is wasted, request a weekly study plan from the Counseling Office to write down and keep track of time.
  • Stay away from the phone when reading. If it's really important they will get it later
  • Start with the tasks you don't like first. When you are done you will feel relief.
  • Learn your body's rhythms and work with them
  • Protect the time you have scheduled to work
  • Live a balanced life
  • Use or make an Academic Semester Calendar and write down all the dates you have homework, exams, etc. that you will place on a wall or large desk. Next, make a monthly one with the corresponding information that you will have with you in a bag or notebook. If you want you can have the same information in a weekly schedule and also in a list of tasks for each day. The goal is not to be a slave to calendars, but this way leads to liberation from the chaos of accumulated tasks and gives you a sense of control.
  • Read at the same time every day to have a systematic schedule and schedule yourself.
  • Always wear a watch!!
