Project title:

Primary Prevention and Mental Health Care in the Community.

Aims/Objectives:

This project is about the influence of the mental health care milieu on the psychological response of both the Greek- Cypriot Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses (PMHNs) and their patients. This project has been completed in three parts. The first part regarded the quantitative exploration of PMHNs professional attitudes and associations with mental health factors. The second part was about the phenomenological exploration of the lived experience of Greek-Cypriot PMHN of their role. The third part of the project, called the PHENOMIC study, regarded the phenomenological exploration of the lived experience of mentally ill patients. Special focus has been given to the way they interpret their illness and their relationships with nurses.

Primary Prevention and Mental Health Care in the Community.

Aims/Objectives:

This project is about the influence of the mental health care milieu on the psychological response of both the Greek- Cypriot Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses (PMHNs) and their patients. This project has been completed in three parts. The first part regarded the quantitative exploration of PMHNs professional attitudes and associations with mental health factors. The second part was about the phenomenological exploration of the lived experience of Greek-Cypriot PMHN of their role. The third part of the project, called the PHENOMIC study, regarded the phenomenological exploration of the lived experience of mentally ill patients. Special focus has been given to the way they interpret their illness and their relationships with nurses.
