The ALTHEA project focuses on the postpartum period, a critical stage for the health of women and their babies. Its aim is to promote healthy behaviours such as breastfeeding, physical activity, and sustained smoking cessation, all of which are strongly linked to disease prevention and long-term well-being. By employing innovative methods like social network analysis and developing a digital social connectedness tool, the project explores how attitudes and beliefs spread within social relationships and how these dynamics can be harnessed to support healthier lifestyles. Through pilot studies and community participation, ALTHEA aspires to deliver practical tools for women and families, create valuable datasets for future research, and provide evidence to inform public health policy and practice.
