The city of Limassol

The city of Limassol is located on the southern coast of Cyprus and it is the second largest city in population on the island.  It has a rich historical heritage and cultural tradition, with traces of ancient, Byzantine, Frankish and Ottoman monuments which together compose the physiognomy of the city.

Limassol is one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean, the largest ship management center in the European Union, one of the most popular tourist destinations but also financial centre, particularly in the areas of services.

Limassol is one of the most cosmopolitan Mediterranean seaside towns and popular tourist destination with modern facilities that offer a level of quality of life for residents and visitors.  The city has managed to be at the top of the industrial, economic, intellectual and artistic activity of the island.

A vibrant city that offers its residents and visitors a wide range of activities in the fields of entertainment, sports and culture. The establishment and operation of the Cyprus University of Technology, with thousands of students to live and study in the historical centre of Limassol, has widened further the wealth and the horizons of the city.

Transport

Limassol is linked to the world via Larnaca and Paphos international airports but for trade through its port.  Guests can reach in Limassol from Larnaca and Paphos airports using buses or taxis. There are four types of buses in Cyprus: a) Buses to/from the airports, b) Coaches (linking the cities), c) Buses (City), d) rural buses (connecting the cities to the countryside) bus routes ( Urban Central and evening) for the city and district of Limassol operated by passenger transport Company.
