Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill the following academic position at the Cyprus University of Technology:
DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SCIENCES
FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
- One (1) position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Lecturer in the specialization:
“Occupational Therapy”
It is noted that the elected candidate will be situated in Limassol and/or Paphos and/or any other district in the Republic of Cyprus.
Applicants for all academic positions should have a doctorate degree from a recognized University. The university reserves the right to request recognition of the doctorate degree from the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (K.Y.S.A.T.S). The candidates will be assessed only for the rank or the ranks for which they have applied in the e-Recruiting Platform.
Citizenship of the Republic of Cyprus is not required.
It is noted that, according to the Cyprus University of Technology Budget Law 2023 (article 18), academic or other teaching staff are obliged to have a permanent stay in the Republic of Cyprus for the duration of their employment at the Cyprus University of Technology and the University will proceed to payment of their remuneration provided that the above obligation is fulfilled.
According to the Cyprus University of Technology Law, the language of instruction at the University is either Greek or Turkish. For the current position, good knowledge of the Greek language is required; evidence is provided in the relevant circular by the Public Service Commission, or B2 Level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
In case an elected candidate does not have a good knowledge of Greek language based on the criteria set above, it is his/her obligation upon his/her election to achieve it within three years time, with the commitment of the relevant Academic Department.
The annual gross salary for each rank (including the 13th salary) upon election, based on legislation into effect, is:

From the above earnings, employee contributions to Government Funds as well as Income Tax will be deducted, according to the legislation into effect.
*The University’s Council may approve additional increments on the starting salary upon election, having recognised previous experience additional to that required by Law per rank and based on criteria. More information can be found at the Policy for additional/maximum increments per rank.
Academic Faculty Staff commence employment between the first working day of August and the first working day of September for the Fall Semester and between the first working day of December and the first working day of January for the Spring Semester, with at least one (1) months’ notice.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be available for the Fall Semester 2026 which begins on September 2026 (commencement of employment between August 2026 and September 2026), unless otherwise agreed.

- A letter in which candidates should state the Department, the rank, the specialization in which they are interested in, as well as the date on which they can undertake responsibilities in case they are elected
- Curriculum vitae which will include list of publications where applicable. The CV must also include detailed information in regard to previous employment such as: Position, organization/university, exact dates of employment, whether it is full-time or part-time (hours per week or per month must be specified) employment.
- A short review of their research interests as well as a brief description of their future research plans - up to 500 words
- Three representative scientific publications of their work. This is not obligatory for candidates who apply for the position of Lecturer
- Copies of the candidate’s degree certificates
- Names and email addresses of at least three academics (women and/or men) who, upon submission of the application, will be automatically notified to submit confidential reference letters in English, within seven (7) days from the deadline of the submission of applications.
The University may also request reference letters from independent referees (men and women) of the choice of members of the Special Committee, if considered necessary.
Applications, documents as well as reference letters that were submitted for previous position advertisements will not be taken into consideration.
Please note that it is the applicants’ responsibility to ensure that their application has been successfully uploaded and submitted with all the required documents. Upon successful submission of the application, the applicant will receive an automated confirmation by email.
No changes will be possible after the submission of the application
It is emphasised that, it is the candidates’ responsibility to ensure that:
(a) they have informed the academics who have been assigned in their application as Referees and that they consent, before submitting their application, and that the contact details of the academics submitted in their application are correct (e.g. email account).
(b) at least three (3) reference letters have been received in support of their application by the deadline set which is seven (7) days after the deadline for the submission of applications. Candidates will be automatically informed via the e-recruiting platform every time a reference letter is uploaded onto their application.
Incomplete applications (including the receipt of at least three reference letters at the deadlines set above), will not be taken into consideration.
After the deadline for the submission of applications, and after it has been established that there is no conflict of interest: (a) between the members of the Special Committee (SP) and the candidates, and (b) between the members of the SC, the candidates who are selected by the SC will be invited for a personal interview. The selection procedure is usually completed within seven (7) to nine (9) months. All candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application, once the procedure is completed and approved by the Responsible University Bodies.
