Junior Data Engineer Description

EPAM is seeking a Junior Data Engineer who is passionate about data technologies and enjoys creating robust and efficient solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing robust data architecture serving different areas of the client's reinsurance business and ensuring data health requirements through proper validation and error-handling processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to move and transform data
• Work with team members to process and transform data using Azure Databricks (ADB)
• Learn to write queries for data analysis and ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Help manage cloud-based data integration solutions and ensure smooth data flow
• Work alongside business and IT teams to understand requirements and contribute to technical solutions
• Support the integration of data from various sources into Azure-based solutions

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in a similar position
• Basic understanding of SQL or willingness to learn
• Interest in cloud technologies and data engineering tools like Azure Data Factory and Databricks
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to collaborate with teams
• Enthusiasm for learning data integration and ETL processes
• Fluency in English

Nice to have

• Familiarity with any programming language or data tools (e.g., Python, Excel)
• Interest in analytics platforms like Azure Synapse Analytics
• Experience with big data processing frameworks (Spark/Hadoop), preferably within the Azure ecosystem
