1st International Student Short Film Festival: Yeast Int'l Student Film Festival

The Department of Fine Arts of Cyprus University of Technology, organizes the 1st International Student Short Film Festival: Yeast Int'l Student Film Festival is starting this year, aiming to promote independent filmmaking in a student context,  through screening short student films from around the world.

The three-day festival will be hosted this year at the premises of the Department of Fine Arts, at Vinegar Factory – Centre of Performing Arts MITOS and Synergeio, in Limassol, on the 23rd-25th of February 2024.

The organization announces the Open Call for film submissions in one of four genres: Fiction, Animation, Documentary and Experimental Cinema, and/or in a fifth special category under the thematic "Empathy & Environment".

The Yeast Int'l Student Film Festival this year is looking for short films, which must:

  • have been produced during the student years (undergraduate or postgraduate program) of the director and/or producer.
  • have been completed from January 2021 onwards.
  • be less than 20 minutes.

The deadline for submission is 15th of January 2024, while the final program will be announced in the first week of February 2024.

The festival wishes to create a vibrant micro-world of filmmaking enthusiasts and artists, in and around the university premises, the city of Limassol and the wider world.

The festival is supported by the Department of Communication & Internet Studies of Cyprus University of Technology.
