Position:

One ESR to be recruited by the host organization of the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, Cyprus for the duration of three (3) years under full employment contract. The fellow will work on: Development of advanced metadata and semantic model for integrating: (1) Paradata of the acquisition technologies and historical and archaeological evidence of CH objects, (2) the argumentation leading to virtual reconstruction and discussing alternatives with the object owners/ stakeholders, (3) the connection of physical and social-historical, constructive, functional, aesthetic and environmental parameters, etc. with 3D/4D documentation of CH objects.

Expected Results:

A complete online platform for the holistic e-documentation of 3D CH objects: metadata, paradata, semantics, reflecting the interpretation and story of the 3D asset.

The Applicant should:

1.  Have completed at least a four or five year education cycle (e.g. Diploma in Engineering, Master’s Degree etc) from a recognized university in Geomatics, Computer- / Electrical Engineering Computer Science and/or Surveying Engineering with less than four (4) years of continuous full-time research experience in the above fields, with excellent programming skills and very good language and communication / implementation skills

2.  At the time of recruitment, not have resided (or carried out his/her main activity e.g. work, studies, etc.) in Cyprus, for more than 12 months in the last 3 years immediately prior to the reference recruitment date.

• PhD title from a recognized university in the following field of study: Political Science

• Original publications in international scientific journals or other recognized value publications (eg. monographs or books of recognized publishers)

Οι υποψήφιοι για αυτή την θέση θα πρέπει να κατέχουν:

1. Πτυχίο και Μεταπτυχιακό από Αναγνωρισμένο Πανεπιστήμιο στα σχετικά γνωστικά  αντικείμενα Διοίκηση Επιχειρήσεων, Δημόσια Διοίκηση, Διοίκηση Γραφείου και Γραμματειακές Σπουδές ή εφάμιλλο τίτλο.
2. Εμπειρία στη διεκπεραίωση έρευνας/ών σχετικών με το γνωστικό αντικείμενο.
3. Διεκπεραίωση ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων από εθνικά ή/και ευρωπαϊκά κονδύλια, θα αποτελεί επιπρόσθετο προσόν.

6. Επιπρόσθετο προσόν θα αποτελεί η εμπειρία στην Διαχείριση Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιάς ή Ψηφιακού Υλικού Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς ή Αρχιτεκτονικής ή Τοπογραφίας ή Πολιτικού Μηχανικού.

Οι μηνιαίες ακαθάριστες απόλαβες του υποψηφίου,  σύμφωνα με τα σημερινά δεδομένα και την ισχύουσα νομοθεσία, ανέρχονται στα €2145,62. Από το ποσό αυτό θα αφαιρούνται οι νόμιμες εισφορές στα διάφορα Ταμεία του Κράτους που αφορούν στον εργοδοτούμενο και φόρος εισοδήματος. Θα παρέχεται 13° μισθός ο οποίος έχει ενσωματωθεί κατ’ αναλογία στη μηνιαία αντιμισθία. Η εργοδότηση ενδέχεται να ξεκινήσει αρχές Μαρτίου 2021 και θα διαρκέσει μέχρι τον Ιούλιο 2021, με προοπτική ανανέωσης.

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill two (2) Research Fellow Position (Postdoctoral Researcher or Postgraduate Associate - Assistant Researcher A) with the Co-Inform project (https://coinform.eu) in the field of “Combating misinformation on social media” with the Department of Communication and Internet Studies, at the Cyprus University of Technology.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant(s) will help design, refine and deliver a research programme on examining and addressing misinformation on social media with policymakers, journalists and citizens. Other related research activities may also be pursued in this context.  In addition, they will perform project management work related to the project. 

Qualifications

The applicants should have:

• At a minimum, a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Communication Studies, Computer Science, Educational Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, Learning Sciences, Psychology, Sociology.
• Strong background in research methods.
• Excellent knowledge of quantitative data analysis software, such as SPSS.
• Very good language and communication / implementation skills.
• Very good knowledge of the English language at a proficiency level (spoken and written)

The following will be considered as an advantage:

1. Prior experience in research in a related field.
2. Prior participation in funded national or European research programmes.
3. Publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.

Τhe appointment will be for a period of six (6) months with the prospect of renewal. The monthly gross salary will be based on qualifications and the hours worked per month as follows:

Το Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου δέχεται αιτήσεις για την πλήρωση μιας (1) θέσης Ειδικού Εκπαιδευτικού Προσωπικού (ΕΕΠ) με σύμβαση στην Ειδικότητα «Επιστήμη Ζωικής Παραγωγής (Animal Science)» για το Τμήμα Γεωπονικών Επιστημών, Βιοτεχνολογίας και Επιστήμης Τροφίμων.

Η εγκεκριμένη Μισθοδοτική Κλίμακα για το Ειδικό Εκπαιδευτικό Προσωπικό είναι η Α8-Α10-Α11. Η πλήρωση της θέσης αυτής θα είναι με σύμβαση. Ο υποψήφιος που θα επιλεγεί μπορεί να τοποθετηθεί σε οποιαδήποτε βαθμίδα της πιο πάνω κλίμακας ανάλογα με τα προσόντα και την πείρα του.
