About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AV Specialist to design, program, and operate audio-visual and lighting systems for live events, performances, and corporate productions. This role requires strong technical expertise, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with production teams and clients to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities

Lighting Design & Operation

  • Designing, implementing, and operating dynamic lighting setups for various events and productions.
  • Selecting, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a range of lighting fixtures, consoles, dimmers, and control systems (e.g., DMX, Art-Net).
  • Programming and operating GrandMA3 lighting consoles for live and pre-programmed shows.
  • Ensuring all lighting systems comply with power and safety regulations.
  • Collaborating closely with directors, set designers, and technical crews to integrate lighting seamlessly with other production elements.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed lighting plots, equipment inventories, and focus charts.

Audio Engineering

  • Managing live sound mixing, recording, and reinforcement during events.
  • Calibrating and tuning speaker systems for optimal performance.
  • Setting up and operating microphones and audio equipment to ensure clear, balanced sound.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues related to audio signal flow and system performance.
  • Performing regular maintenance and ensuring equipment readiness.
  • Supporting post-production sound editing when required.

Video Production & Operation

  • Setting up and configuring video systems for live events and broadcasts.
  • Managing and routing multiple video signals to ensure consistent quality and synchronization.
  • Operating camera control units (CCU) and performing camera shading adjustments.
  • Running video switchers and managing live video feeds during events.
  • Monitoring visual quality to ensure compliance with broadcast and technical standards.
  • Quickly troubleshooting video system issues, including signal loss and recording failures.
  • Collaborating with lighting and audio teams to ensure seamless AV integration across all production elements.

 

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in AV and/or lighting design, programming, and operation.
  • Proficiency with MA2/MA3 lighting consoles and knowledge of DMX, Artnet, and sACN.
  • Strong knowledge of AV technologies (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; CTS certification a plus.
