Junior Business Analyst

EPAM is looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, designers and strategists in collaboration with one of our insurance industry clients. In this role, you will contribute to the development of a cutting-edge business application that streamlines the end-to-end underwriting process—from request registration, calculation and risk assessment to final approval.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze and manage requirements from stakeholders
  • Communicate and facilitate discussions with stakeholders (product owners, business analysts from different countries and companies: US, Switzerland, India, Poland, Belarus)
  • Possess and manage the Product Backlog by defining, prioritizing and refining tasks
  • Possess a deep understanding of the product structure, business processes and data model
  • Conduct Product Backlog refinement/grooming sessions to clarify and update requirements, decompose tasks and formulate acceptance criteria
  • Assist the development team in interpreting and clarifying requirements, decomposing tasks and formulating acceptance criteria
  • Build and maintain the project documentation
  • Help the QA team with manual and acceptance testing

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a system or business analyst
  • Proficiency in working with specifications, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, as well as experience in conducting requirements elicitation, analysis and management
  • Understanding of requirements lifecycle and requirements quality criteria
  • Experience in business process and data modeling
  • Ability to build, compose and structure the project documentation
  • Understanding the software development lifecycle
  • Technical background with an understanding of microservice architecture, RESTful APIs and database design
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
