The successful candidate is expected to:
Develop and implement data-driven methodologies for disease surveillance and risk modeling.
Integrate environmental, animal, and human health data to detect and predict outbreaks and
trends.
Design and deploy real-time monitoring systems for vector-borne and zoonotic diseases.
Contribute to health policy frameworks informed by analytics on climate and disease trends.
Prepare reports and project deliverables.
Produce, publish and present research results in high quality conferences and journals.
Engage in the preparation of research and/or innovation proposals.
The required skills and expertise for the announced positions include one or more of the following
areas:
Epidemiology and public health surveillance
Climate change modeling and impact analysis
Zoonotic and vector-borne disease monitoring
Data science, AI/ML in health and environmental applications
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing for disease mapping

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Meteorology,
Atmospheric Sciences, Remote Sensing, Data Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or
related fields from an accredited institution
Doctorate degree or equivalent in the subject areas above or related fields
Relevant experience will be considered an advantage
Employment Terms:
The position is on a contract basis. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered, with a 6-month probation
period, which is renewable based on performance. The gross monthly salary depends on the candidate's
qualifications and experience and will be between €2300 - €3500. From this amount, employee
contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted. A 13th salary bonus is incorporated in the
monthly salary. Maternity leave will be granted based on Maternity Protection Law 1997(Ν.100(Ι)/1997),
and the existing amendment laws.
