Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill two (2) Full-time or Part-time Research Fellow positions (Postgraduate Associates / Assistant Researchers A’– R1** or Post-doctoral Researcher – R2**) at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics in the field of “Green dEal cOmpliant iRriGation Increasing Europe’s Agriculture resilience to drought’’.

Applicants should have:

For the position of Post-Doctoral Researchers:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree and a Doctoral degree from a recognized university in one or a combination of the following fields (e.g. Business Administration, Communication, or a related discipline)

 

For the position of Post-Graduate Associates (Assistant Researchers A’):

A Bachelor's and Master's degree from a recognized university in one or a combination of the following fields (e.g., Business Administration, Communication, or a related discipline)

 

Additionally, candidates for both positions should have:

 

  1. Good knowledge of financial and administrative management principles (budget tracking, reporting)
  2. Familiarity with project procedures, documentation, and reporting requirements
  3. Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  4. Ability to interact with international stakeholders, including European Commission representatives, partners, and policymakers
  5. Strict professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all partners
  6. Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting the organization in meetings
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom)
  9. Very good knowledge of the English language (spoken and written)

 

For all positions, any knowledge or experience in the following areas is desirable and will be considered an additional qualification:

Monthly gross earnings are determined as follows, according to current legislation:

 

- Position of Post-Doctoral Researchers

€1356.93- €2652.96

 

- Position of Post-Graduate Associates (Assistant Researchers A’)

 €940.83 - €1839.43

 

From the above amounts, employee contributions to Government Funds as well as Income Tax will be deducted, according to legislation into effect.

 

The amount of remuneration for successful candidates will be determined according to qualifications and employment status (full- or part-time). The employment will be for six (6) months with the prospect of renewal for another six (6) months. It is noted that a 13th salary is provided, which has been proportionally incorporated in the monthly remuneration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Project Coordinator, the Project Manager, and other members of the consortium of the EU-funded H2020 GEORGIA project;
  • Participation in the preparation and submission of project deliverables;
  • Dissemination and communication of the project results through journal/conference publications, participation in conferences, information days and other relevant events;
  • Involvement in the transfer of knowledge and capacity building activities that will be offered by the partners in the framework of GEORGIA project;
  • Managing and coordinating administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and workflow of the project;
  • Assisting in budget preparation and ensuring financial procedure adherence.
  • Preparing and distributing correspondence, reports, presentations, and other project documents;
  • Supporting project management activities, tracking deadlines, milestones, and deliverables;
  • Liaising with partners and ensuring compliance with the requirements of GEORGIA project;
  • Handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
