Important Notes:

  • Course evaluation for all courses attended during the Spring Semester of 2020/2021 must be completed BEFORE THE ENROLLMENT PERIOD, for a student to be able to proceed with his enrollment in courses for the Fall Semester 2021/2021. Students that have not completed this evaluation must do so immediately, via their student portal.
  • Each student can only enroll during the dates noted above.
  • Students are urged to study the course schedule and the relevant student prospectus (which lays out their course of study). Students are also urged to contact their academic advisor (which can be located via their student portal) to receive correct and accurate guidance about the courses that they should enroll in.
  • Students with any outstanding obligations related to the University (i.e. tuition fees, housing issues, library issues etc.) will have to fulfill their obligations before the registration period.
  • Students facing technical or other difficulties with their enrollment in courses (i.e. clash between courses, wish for enrollment in increased number of courses etc.) are requested to contact the Academic Affairs Office via email at studies@cut.ac.cy . The subject of the email must be clear and to the point (i.e. CLASH BETWEEN COURSES, REQUEST FOR ENROLLMENT IN INCREASED NUMBER OF COURSES, TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES etc.) and the message itself must include:
  • Name, Surname and Civil or Student ID Number
  • Department
  • Short and precise description of the issue
  • A screenshot (where this is possible) that illustrates the issue

Notes especially for Undergraduate students:

  • Workload: A student can, with the consent of his academic advisor, take on an increased work load. This increased workload can be no more that one extra course in the cases of students attending up to (and including) their 6th semester of study and two extra courses in the cases of students attending their 7th (and beyond) semester of study. Thesis preparation is not considered as part of the workload.
  • Transitional Provision: For students that begun their studies before the academic year 2018-2019, the increased workload can be up to 42 ECTS. This requires the approval of the relative department’s chairperson.
  • Students that have failed 50% of the courses they attended during the 1st semester of their studies are only allowed to enroll for those courses during the 3rd semester of their studies
  • Grade Improvement: A student that has successfully completed a course but wishes to attend it again in order to achieve a grade improvement can do so by: (a) Acquiring the consent of the person teaching the course AND (b) Sending a relevant request to studies@cut.ac.cy
  • Enrollment in courses that clash (timewise) on the course schedule: Students are permitted to enroll for courses that they have previously failed even if these courses clash (timewise) with other courses that they wish to enroll in. Even though they are not obliged to attend the lectures a course they are attending for a 2nd time, they do have to comply with all other obligations of the course (mid-term exam, final exam, assignments etc.). Please note that the academic departments have the authority to disallow this arrangement for one or more courses.

Notes especially for Postgraduate students (attending a Masters or PhD Level program):

  • Postgraduate students attending a Masters degree course that are in the process of preparing their thesis, must enroll for this course every semester until the successful completion of their thesis. The maximum duration of study that a student attending a Masters degree course has at his or her disposal for completing his degree, is 8 semesters.
  • Postgraduate students (attending a PhD level program) must enroll, every semester, in either a Research stage or a Writing stage. In case all such stages have been exhausted; the student must enroll for the PG_900 course which is necessary for them to maintain their active student status
  • Postgraduate students (attending a PhD level program) will be able to enroll in courses (and hence maintain their active student status), only if they have submitted their annual progress report before the registration period.
