Explanations for Undergraduate Students

In the case that students cannot register electronically whether they surpassed the 30 ECTS , or they do not meet the prerequisites or they have a clash for their program they will have to fill out the form (click here) that will be enabled during registration. And will have to meet with their academic advisor for help.

The departments will also have to specify days and times to be able to meet with students that have problems with the registration. Students will have to have an academic transcript with them to take to their advisor for approval and signature by the president of the department. The secretary of the department will prepare a list with approvals and send it to the academic affairs department. The corresponding secretary at the department will then pass these modules on the student records. It will then be the responsibility of the students to check their portal that the modules have been passed on correctly to their card.

Explanations for Graduate Students (Master and Doctoral)

Provided that postgraduate students (Masters level) who are in the process of working their Master's Thesis and do not complete should be enrolled in this course every semester. (Maximum Duration of study for Master level is 8 Semesters). It is noted that PhD students should be enrolled every semester in the "Research or Writing" stage and at the end of the spring semester of each year to deliver the "Annual Progress Report". In cases where PhD students have completed ALL STAGES they are required to enroll in the semester (without Courses) until the completion stage (Maximum Duration of Study 16 Semesters)

Those students who do not register during the specified period for enrollment in classes, they will be able to do so during the period of add/drop. It is emphasized that no enrollments will be allowed after the last day of the add/drop period.

For students who will need any TECHNICAL SUPPORT at the time of enrollment, the Department of Computer Science / IT will be at the Computer Teaching Lab, "Polixeni Loizia & Eleni Autonomou" Building, daily from 09:00 to 13:00.

It is stressed that if any student has any financial issues or tuition due (eg registration fee of € 40, tuition fees for postgraduate programs, Housing, Library etc.), the system does not allow for registration in lessons. There will be a hold on the student's record with the "Hold" indication, where it will not let him make any movement in the system. Students who have pending economic issues should settle it before the start of the registration period. For inquiries regarding potential debts, please contact the University's Service and Information Center (see Mariza Alonefti), tel. 25 002710 and kep@cut.ac.cy.

Notes

  1. Registration for  Students with more than 30 ects: The normal semester load is 30 ects. Those who have been admitted to study programs prior to the academic year 2018-19 may have an increased load of up to 42 ects, with the approval of the President of the Department. Those who have begun attending in September 2018 may, in agreement and with the approval of the Academic Adviser, overload the normal load (30 ects) and enroll in lessons up to 38 ects in up to two academic semesters in ALL during their studies .
  2. Registration of Students with Exceptions to Prerequisites: All prerequisite courses have been put into the system. As a result, no student will be able to enroll in courses where there are prerequisites. Prerequisites exceptions will be given by the President of each Department to specific courses for the particular students. For those students, the Department Council confirms that their enrollment does not fall under the prerequisite rule, students will proceed with the registration of this course automatically.
  3. Grade Improvement: A student who wishes to improve his / her degree in a course rated at a level equal to or greater than 5 may resume it after the teacher has given his / her approval by completing the relevant form. This statement will be made by an Officer and will inform the student accordingly.
  4. Student registration with a timetable conflict. You will not be able to enroll in courses where there is a timetable conflict. We focus the attention of students first to fill the gaps of the past years and then to go on to the older years. It is noted that students' demands with timetable conflict will be considered ONLY for students who will be graduating.
