Cyprus University of Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, offers scholarships for postgraduate studies to interested students from Gambia, Guyana, Libya, and Palestine* for the academic year 2024-25. 

*Applicants must hold a valid passport or ID Card proving that they have one of the 4 eligible nationalities.

Which programs do these scholarships cover?

The scholarships apply to the following 6 Master’s level programs taught in English:

What do these scholarships include?

For programs offered with physical presence, the scholarships for successful candidates include:

  • Full tuition coverage
  • Accommodation in university dormitories for a period of 18 months
  • A monthly stipend of €500 for 18 months

For programs conducted via distance learning, the scholarships cover only full tuition fees.

Who is eligible to apply, and what documents are required?

Applicants for Master’s programs must hold a degree from a recognized university or possess qualifications deemed equivalent by the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Titles of Studies (KY.S.A.T.S.) in relevant fields. Graduating undergraduate students who are expected to receive their university degree before the start of the postgraduate program are also eligible to apply.

Applicants will be electronically notified of the outcome of their application via the email address they have provided during the submission process and through the University’s Online Portal.

Applicants should submit the following documents electronically through the University’s Online Portal:

  1. Photocopy of a valid ID card or passport.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  3. Photocopies of university degrees (or a certificate confirming that the university degree will be obtained before the start of the postgraduate program).
  4. Detailed academic transcripts.
  5. A brief statement (approximately 500 words) in which the candidate explains their reasons for choosing the specific postgraduate program and describes their academic and research interests in relation to their future professional plans.
  6. Recommendations/Letters of Recommendation: For all programs (except the Master in Public Health), full letters of recommendation are not required. Only the names/contact details of two individuals who can provide recommendations need to be declared. If necessary, the department will directly contact these individuals (the declaration of contact details for recommenders is done during the electronic application submission. Relevant instructions are also provided in the application guide). Specifically for candidates applying to the Master in Public Health (MPH) program, two (2) letters of recommendation are mandatory. These letters should be sent directly by the recommenders (at least one of the letters should be academic) via the following online platform: Reference Form.
  7. English Language Proficiency Certificate: This is required for all English-language programs. Acceptable certificates include G.C.E/I.G.C.S.E O level exams with a minimum grade of C, or IELTS/TOEFL scores with a minimum of 6.5 or 580 (paper-based test)/82 (internet-based test). Graduates from English-speaking university programs are exempt from this requirement
  8. Expression of Interest for the Scholarship: As part of the online application, interested candidates are required to upload a document (under the section ‘OTHER CERTIFICATES AND DOCUMENTS’) declaring that they are students from the specific country (Gambia, Guyana, Libya, or Palestine) and express their interest in competing for one of the mentioned scholarships.
