The Rector of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), Professor Panayiotis Zaphiris, will assume the role of President of the Rectors’ Board of the European University of Technology (EUt+) as of 1 July 2025, for the next semester.
During his presidency, Professor Zaphiris will focus on three key priorities:
1️. Advancing discussions for the establishment of the Technology Engineering and Design School (TEDS). A second key objective is to expand the training of academic staff teaching in the clusters of study programmes through the Pedagogical Framework developed and coordinated by CUT under Task 4.2.
2️. Strengthening efforts to align the joint study programmes under development within the alliance with the 12 features of the European Degree, in line with the ambitions of the European Commission.
3️. Promoting agreement for the creation of the Entrepreneurship School of EUt+ and the immediate launch of the new short programme awarding micro-credentials in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Professor Zaphiris extends his sincere thanks to Professor Arn Steinmetz, Rector of Hochschule Darmstadt (HDA), and Professor Talis Juhna, Rector of Riga Technical University (RTU), for their effective leadership and valuable contribution to the progress of the alliance over the past period.
