Required Qualifications: Bachelor and Master from an accredited University in Agricultural Sciences or Biology or related disciplines. Applicants should be fluent in English. Previous relevant research experience will be considered.

Candidates will have to support interview for the current position.

Funding: Chosen candidate may be hired as teaching assistant, or upon his performance acquire internal scholarships. The candidate may be funded through external funding sources (research or services). The candidate is expected to apply for any possible external funding given as scholarship to him/her directly or through his academic advisor and the advisor will assist him/her towards this endeavor in any possible way.

Required Qualifications:  Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Agricultural Sciences, Food Science/Technology or Food Chemistry or other relevant degree in the area.

Applicants should be fluent in English. Previous relevant research experience will be considered.

  • One (1) post in the topic: One (1) post in the topic “Εcotoxicology of plant production products”

Description: The project aims at the development of an eco-pesticide based on plant essential oils, for use against plant-feeding insects and mites. The successful candidate will work closely with a company active in the field, as well as researchers with expertise in vegetable production / plant essential oils (in Cyprus and abroad) for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the product in lab and field trials. The work includes assessment of the effects of the product on non-target species. 

Required Qualifications: Candidates are expected to have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from an accredited University in Agricultural Sciences or Biology or Ecology or related disciplines. Applicants must have an excellent working knowledge of the English language. Previous relevant research experience is highly valued.

Funding: Part of the PhD research is funded through national and EU funds. Moreover, depending on his/her field of expertise and qualifications, the candidate may be offered a teaching assistantship for lab-based courses of the Department, receive internal scholarships based on excellence and participate in funded research grants.

Description: Study of microbial ecology as well as technological characteristics of the fermentation of Cypriot wines to create new knowledge in the subject and to improve the processes. Creation of useful tools and methodologies for monitoring and addressing key industrial problems during fermentation.

Required Qualifications: Candidates should hold a Bachelor’ s and a Master ’s degree from recognized Universities in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, Agriculture, Life Sciences or other related scientific fields. The candidates should enjoy performing a combination of applied/field and basic research, whereas experience with microbial fermentations, molecular and microbiological laboratory assays, analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, GCMS) and writing of scientific studies and papers will be considered an asset. Candidates should also perform very well in English (writing and verbal skills).

Funding: The qualified candidate may be funded from existing funding sources of the research advisor. Moreover, depending on his/her field of expertise and qualifications, the candidate may be offered a teaching assistantship for lab-based courses of the Department, receive internal scholarships based on excellence and participate in funded research grants.
