Topic: Metaverse and Data Management
Brief Description: Ioannis Perachoritis is a PhD candidate in the Metaverse and Data Management. His research is funded by the Marie SkÅodowska-Curie Doctoral Network, AGORA and conducted at the Cyprus University of Technology. His work explores the challenges of managing, sharing, and governing data in immersive metaverse ecosystems, where complex interactions between different actors shape new immersive experiences. The doctoral research focuses on hiw different stakeholders, including developers, platform providers, users, and regulators, interact with and influence data flows in the metaverse. It shed light on coordination among key
[...]actors, such as developers, users, and regulators, and how it often creates barriers to data management in immersive digital environments. Such barriers may be relevant to interoperability, privacy, scalability, and cross-platform governance. Ioannis presented his work at the Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems (MCIS 2025), as part of the Emerging Technologies and Future Studies track, and also participated in the conference's Junior Faculty and Doctoral Consortium, receiving mentoring and feedback from leading scholars in the field.
