Anastasios Merkouris graduated from the Department of Nursing of the University of Athens (1992) and then acquired a Master’s degree (Msc) from the University of California San of Nursing Francisco (USA) (1995) and a PhD from the University of Athens in Nursing Management (1996).
He has worked for many years as Visiting Professor at the Military School of Nursing Officers, as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Nursing at Hellenic Mediterranean University and he has a lot of experience in health care professional training (manager of educational departments, special national evaluator, teaching etc.). - Bachelor degree in Nursing from the University of Athens (1992). Grade excellent (8.75) with scholarship from the National Institute of Scholarships (NIS).
- Completion of one-year post-graduate course “Methodology of research” at the University of Athens, Department of Nursing (1993).
- Master of science in Nursing Administration from the University of California, San Francisco, U.S.A (1995). (Rank 2nd in the US, GPA=4.0) with scholarship from the University (UCSF).
- Doctoral degree from the University of Athens in Nursing Administration with subject “Patient satisfaction, criterion of quality of nursing services” (1996). Grade excellent.
