Dean’s Welcome Message

Dear Students and Visitors,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the new website of the Faculty of Management and Economics.

The Faculty of Management and Economics, founded in 2007, has managed in a relatively short period of time to be considered among the elite Schools of Management and Economics in Cyprus and Greece gaining at the same time international recognition from the academic community. This quick establishment is mainly attributed to its exceptional academic staff members who remain committed to the primary goals of the School to advance teaching, promote research excellence and build strategic relationships with the business world. These collective goals are achieved through the use of modern teaching methods and the implementation of effective internship programmes designed to provide students with a balanced combination of theory, scientific knowledge and up-to-date practice.

The Faculty of Management and Economics consists of two Departments which offer a significant number of Bachelor and Master Degree Programmes. The two Departments of the Faculty are:

  • Department of Commerce, Finance and Shipping (CFS). The CFS Department offers a Bachelor of Science Degree Programme in Commerce, Finance, and Shipping with specialization in Finance or Shipping and Master of Science Degree Programmes in Shipping and Finance, Shipping and Business, and Corporate Financial Management.
  • Department of Hotel and Tourism Management (HTM). Τhe HTM Department offers a Bachelor of Science Degree Programme in Hotel and Tourism Management with specialization in Hospitality Management or Tourism Management,  and Master of Science Degree Programmes in International Tourism and Hospitality Management and in Entrepreneurship and Management of Small and Medium Size Enterprises.

In addition, the two Departments offer in collaboration an interdisciplinary Bachelor Degree Programme in Management with specialization in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The programmes have been accredited from international professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Accountants, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Hence, upon successful completion of their degree, students can potentially receive a number of exemptions from ACCA Stage Papers and ICS modules. In addition, the curriculum has been properly designed to prepare students to manage complex information, think autonomously, use resources with an efficient manner, and communicate effectively. Along with the competitive curriculum, the highly qualified academic staff prepare students to meet the dynamic global challenges of the rapidly changing business environment through a modern teaching environment which enhance significantly the employability prospects of the graduates in the job markets.
