Before joining CUT, Prof Artemiou was a Professor of Quantitative methods at Univerity of Limassol, where he served also as the Dean of the School of Technology and Innovation and a Vice Rector of Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance. Prof Artemiou obtained his BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cyprus (2005) and his MSc and PhD in Statistics from Pennsylvania State University (2008, 2010). He worked as an Assistant Professor at Michigan Technological University (2010-2013), and as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader at Cardiff University (2013-2023) and as a Professor at University of Limassol (2023-2026).
[...]He has spent a year as a New Researcher Fellow in Statistics and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute (2012-2013). He is an Associated Editor of the Computational Statistics and Data Analytics journal and a member of the Board of Directors of the European Section of the International Association of Statistical Computing (Chairperson from 2026-2028). He is also an Elected Fellow of the International Statistical Institute.
