The Centre for Lifelong Learning of the Cyprus University of Technology, in collaboration with the CUTing Edge Limassol, is organizing a continuing professional education program titled:
''AI enhanced Virtual Application for educational and for professional purposes ( AI Virtual enhanced Training)''
Program Overview
The AI enhanced Virtual Application Training is an introductory program designed for beginners from both industry and education who want to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence within immersive virtual environments.
This course combines theory with hands-on practice, guiding participants through the fundamentals of navigating virtual reality, selecting and applying AI-powered tools, and examining real-world case studies. Learners will engage in interactive sessions that encourage exploration, critical thinking, and practical application of concepts.
By the end of the training, participants will not only understand the basics of AI in virtual settings but will also be able to identify relevant applications for their own professional or educational context, evaluate their effectiveness, and provide constructive feedback on implementation.

The rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality is transforming both the workplace and the classroom. However, many professionals and educators lack the foundational knowledge and confidence to select and use these tools effectively.
This training responds to the need for accessible, beginner-friendly learning that bridges the gap between emerging technologies and practical application. It equips participants with:
- A clear understanding of how AI and VR can be applied in professional and educational contexts
- Hands-on experience with navigating virtual environments and applying AI tools in realistic scenarios
- Practical insights from case studies that demonstrate real-world impact
By addressing these needs, the program empowers educators and professionals to integrate AI and VR into their daily practices, enhancing productivity, creativity, and innovation.
Course Modules
There are 4 Modules:
1.Introduction to Virtual Reality/ Navigating the VR World (3 hours)
Method: Short lecture (20’) followed by experiential workshop.
2.VR AI Applications. How to choose, how to evaluate and how to use them (3 hours)
Method: Short lecture (30’) and hands-on practice.
3. Case studies enhanced / VR applications (3 hours)
Method: Collaborative group work and case study analysis.
4. Conclusions / feedback – Future developments (3 hours)
Method: Reflection and evaluation.

Having completed the course, trainees will be able to:
- Define the basic concepts of VR and AI in educational and professional contexts.
- Identify different types of VR environments and AI-powered applications.
- Define criteria for selecting suitable AI/VR tools (usability, cost, safety, pedagogical or professional value).
- Recognize real-world examples and case studies of AI and VR applications across industries.

Having completed the course, trainees will be able to:
- Navigate and interact confidently within VR environments and worlds using VR headsets and controllers.
- Apply AI-powered VR tools in guided, hands-on scenarios.
- Analyze and present case studies, highlighting benefits, challenges, and potential uses.
- Provide constructive feedback on the use and effectiveness of VR/AI applications.
Competency-Based Outcomes
Having completed the course, trainees will be able to:
- Integrate AI and VR tools into their own professional or educational practice in a purposeful way.

Program Staff
Scientific Director/ Instructor: Dimitrios Boglou
Dimitrios Boglou is a German and English instructor at the Language Centre of the Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a M.A. in TESOL/TEFL from St. Michael’s College, Colchester,Vermont, USA. He has a M.A in Multimedia teaching from Friedrich Alexander University, Nuremberg, Germany and a B.A. in German language from Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas, USA. In the past, Dimitris has taught language labs in a tertiary environment at the University of Texas, Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University), Hannover University in Germany and St.Michaels’s University. Dimitris has been involved in various European projects such as Grundtvig and Lucide. His research interests include ESAP course development, CALL, sociolinguistics and language evaluation.
