Kick-off meeting of the Launch Game Project

The official kick-off meeting of the The Launch Game for Future Founders project took place in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, on 6–7 May 2026, marking the start of a two-year effort by six European institutions to transform the paper-based Launch Game into a digital, interactive and scalable tool for entrepreneurship education in higher education.

The meeting was hosted by 8D Games BV, which is coordinating the consortium. The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), represented by Dr. Stelios Yiatros, joined the kick-off meeting and is actively contributing to the development of the Digital Launch Game impact measurement framework.

The Launch Game project envisions a learning environment where entrepreneurship is not taught only in theory but experienced first-hand. Through experiential, game-based learning, it seeks to foster entrepreneurial mindsets, build lasting regional partnerships between universities and the startup ecosystem, and equip educators with the tools to prepare students for both employment and self-employment.

Main objectives of the Launch Game project:

1. Foster entrepreneurial mindsets in students and educators through hands-on, experiential learning.

2. Bridge academic knowledge and real-world entrepreneurship by involving industry experts in the learning process.

3. Provide educators with a game-based learning methodology through the development of the Digital Launch Game.

4. Develop an impact measurement framework to assess and improve entrepreneurship education.

The project includes the creation of the Digital Launch Game, an educator training programme, and a regional partnership model connecting universities with industry experts, tested across four regions and refined through feedback, with a particular focus on scalability and long-term adoption across Europe.
