On June 10, 2025, on the island of Syros and during the second day of the 11th Meeting of the Hellenic Society of Rheology (HSR), the inaugural “Tasos C. Papanastasiou Award” was presented to Associate Professor Pavlos Stephanou of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of rheology.

This prestigious award, established under the auspices of the Hellenic Society of Rheology and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, honors the legacy of the late Professor Tasos C. Papanastasiou—a leading scientist and pioneer in the field of rheology—on the occasion of 30 years since his untimely passing.

His scientific work and dedication to research continue to inspire younger generations of researchers, laying a strong foundation for the advancement of the discipline.
