Dr. Marios Costa is a Special Teaching Staff at the
Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering, Cyprus University of Technology. He received his
Bachelor’s degree in Physics with distinction from the University of Cyprus, followed by a
Ph.D. in Physics at the same institution, where he excelled academically and was awarded multiple scholarships and distinctions for his research performance. His areas of expertise include
Lattice Gauge Theories, Quantum Field Theories, and Computational Physics, supported by a strong background in
Particle Physics.
Dr. Costa’s research has made notable contributions to the field, most prominently the development of
[...]a Gauge Invariant Renormalization Scheme (GIRS) and studies on supersymmetric Quantum Field Theories (QFTs). More recently, he has extended his work to Condensed Matter Physics. He has secured several research grants, from the Cyprus University of Technology, the University of Cyprus and the Research and Innovation Foundation, including participation in multiple EXCELLENCE HUBS and PROOF OF CONCEPT programs. His findings have been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, and he collaborates actively with international research groups in both Europe and the United States
As an educator, Dr. Costa has taught a broad range of Physics, Mathematics and Computational Methods courses and has supervised and mentored students at various academic levels.
