Rafael Sofokleous is a Special Scientist at the Lifelong Learning Centre of the Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a PhD in Social Deviance and the Media from the Department of Communication and Internet Studies at the Cyprus University of Technology. He also holds a Master's degree in New Technologies for Learning and Communication, and a BA in Communication and Internet Studies. He has collaborated on several research projects, including CyberSafety IV (Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, https://cybersafety.cy/), which focused on online safety issues, the World Internet Project (https://www.worldinternetproject.com/ )  and the Erasmus+ 'MATE' project (https://mate.projectsgallery.eu/ ), aimed at combating discrimination, hate speech, and promoting respect for diversity on social media and in everyday life.
