Dr Kyriacou is a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes. He obtained his bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Manchester (UK) in 2005. Thereafter he worked at the North West area of England. In 2009 he became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP - Edinburgh). He completed the Specialty Exam (SCE) in Endocrinology & Diabetes in 2012 and he was awarded his Certificate of Completion (CCT) of training in 2014 in General Internal Medicine (GIM) and Endocrinology and Diabetes. He has been awarded a fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians in 2018 (FRCP
[...]– Endinburgh).
He has worked as a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (Greater Manchester, UK) up to September 2015. He retains an affiliation (Honorary Contract) with the aforementioned hospital to this date. During the period of 2014-2015 he completed a Clinical Fellowship in Thyroid diseases in the North West of England which is among his special interests. Since his descent in Cyprus in late 2015, Dr Kyriacou has been working in CEDM Centre of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism in Limassol whilst also affiliated with Evangelismos Hospital in Paphos.
Dr Kyriacou has been involved in teaching and training of junior colleagues and medical students and has completed a Master degree (MA) in Post-Graduate Medical Education (PGME, Edge Hill University, UK) in March 2018. His dissertation thesis has been on “Online health information seeking behavior by patients prior to their outpatient appointments in endocrinology”. His other academic interest includes research with over 30 articles published so far in various peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings. He is a reviewer for various medical journals, including The BMJ, and has presented on various national and international conferences. He has also authored a book chapter titled 'Thyroid and weight' in the medical textbook 'Practical Guide to Obesity Medicine'.
