Panagiotis Ilia is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics at Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a B.Sc. in Informatics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2010), a M.Sc. degree in Advanced Computing - Internet Technologies with Security, from the University of Bristol (2012), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Crete (2018). During that time (2013-2018), he was also working as an Early-Stage Researcher/Research Assistant in the Institute of Computer Science at the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH). After obtaining his Ph.D. he worked for three years (2019-2022) in the Computer Science Department, at the University of Illinois at Chicago, as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. After that, he worked for two years (2022-2023) at the Technical University of Crete as a Researcher and Project Manager. His research interests lie within the broader area of security and privacy, with focus in particular, on web and mobile security, access control, authentication, privacy in online social networks, anonymity, user tracking and fingerprinting, as well as on the intersection between security and AI. His research, which has led to several awards and CVEs, has been published systematically in top-tier conferences, such as ACM CCS, USENIX SECURITY, and NDSS.
