The University would like to inform staff and students the following information:

 

Transfer of the NEW CORONO (COVID-19)

The virus is transmitted from person to person through the respiratory tract, with droplets from the nose or mouth, from people who cough or sneeze.

For this reason, the chances of transmission by a person with symptoms are higher.

Transmission by an asymptomatic person who can carry the virus is very low.

There is also a low risk of transmission of the virus through faeces.

Basic daily precautionary measures

  • Wash your hands at regular intervals with running water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an antiseptic alcoholic solution.
  • When coughing or sneezing, use disposable napkins and dispose of used napkins in a closed trash bin or use the inside of your elbow.
  • Avoid hand contact with your mouth, nose and eyes.
  • Keep a distance of one meter from a person who appears to be ill with flu symptoms.
  • Stay up to date on the latest developments on COVID-19.

Symptoms

-acute respiratory infection (sudden onset of disease, with at least one of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath), with or without hospitalization

     AND

-at least one of the following epidemiological criteria, within the last 14 days before the onset of symptoms:

-Contact with a potential or confirmed case of infection with the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus

the

-History of travel to SARS-CoV-2 affected areas based on current epidemiological data.

Important

If one meets the above epidemiological and clinical criteria, he or she should immediately limit the maximum possible mobility and other activities with which he or she contacts other persons and communicate directly with his or her personal physician or call center 1420.
