Ocean monitoring using remote sensing platforms

    Online event

    13 Απριλίου 2022       11:00 - 12:00

The EXCELSIOR H2020 project, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE) and the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of the Cyprus University of Technology organize a virtual invited talk by Dr. Lohitzune Solabarrieta with title "Ocean monitoring using remote sensing platforms".

*Free attendance
** The talk will be held in English.
**Registration required: https://tinyurl.com/ECoE-AZTI

Dr. Lohitzune Solabarrieta is a civil engineer and she got her PhD in the analysis of ocean surface currents using High Frequency Radar Technology in 2015, at the University of Cantabria (Spain), in collaboration with AZTI-BRTA. She continued her research line as a postdoc in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (2016-2020) and she is currently part of the marine technologies group in AZTI-BRTA. Her research interest is mainly focused on the characterization of the surface ocean processes, at different spatio-temporal scales, using and combining data from remote sensing and in-situ instruments. She is also interested on the application of the ocean processes´ characterization and forecast to the operational oceanography.
