1ST NATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD MEETING WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EUROPEAN ENGINITE PROJECT


The 1ST National Advisory Board meeting of the European ENGINITE project has been successfully held on Friday February 16, 2018, at the Cyprus Interaction Lab (https://www.cyprusinteractionlab.com/ ), of the Cyprus University of Technology.

The National Advisory Board of the European ENGINITE project is composed of three members: Dr. Despo Ktoridou (Associate Professor, President of the Department of Management and Administrative Information Systems, University of Nicosia), Mr. Savvas Savvides (Vice President of the IET Engineering Communities local Network in Cyprus) and Mrs. Elena Kallis (Officer at Cyprus Youth Clubs Organization). The meeting was also attended by the coordinator of the European ENGINITE project Dr. Andri Ioannou (Assistant Professor, Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts), the European Project Manager Dr. Yannis Georgiou (Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts) as well as Mrs. Christina Achilleos (Representative of GrantXpert local partner).

At the beginning of the meeting, the Project Coordinator, Dr. Andri Ioannou presented to the National Advisory Board the European ENGINITE programme in line with its goals and philosophy.

ENGINITE looks forward to creating and implementing an innovative vocational training programme that will help young graduate engineers acquire the practical skills required in the competitive labor market. The pedagogical approach adopted within the framework of the professional development programme will be based on the principles of problem-centered learning.

Subsequently, a discussion took place in which the National Advisory Board shared its views on the possibilities and prospects as well as on the possible challenges that may arise in the implementation of the European project. The meeting was completed with suggestions and proposals provided by the National Advisory Board aiming at the best realization of the objectives of the European ENGINITE project.

At the end of the meeting, the members of the National Advisory Board expressed their enthusiasm for the innovative character of the European ENGINITE project and their full support, aiming at the successful implementation of the project.
