University dormitories and rent payment

Στέγαση Φοιτητικά Νέα

First of all we wish you and your loved ones are in good health.  We further hope that your distance learning progresses are running smoothly.

You have received or will be receiving an invoice from the University Accounting Office for the payment of the fourth installment of rent for the last three months (April, May and June).

We know that by mid-March most of us, taking into account our own prompts, have moved out of the student rooms / apartments and staying with your families in your home.

With this message, we would like to inform you of the following:

  1. For those who have been removed and have been formally informed by electronic form or by email (housing@cut.ac.cy), you may disregard the payment of the fourth installment invoice until further notice by the Housing Office.
  2. Those staying in your room / apartment this time, if you choose to leave by March 31, you can also ignore the fourth installment invoice.  Keep in mind that the semester will be completed by distance learning, including final exams, so your presence at the University is not required for your studies.
  3. If you fall under 1 and 2 above, and have received a fourth installment invoice and have already paid, please let us know by emailing housing@cut.ac.cy.
  4. If you leave or intend to do so by March 31st, it is not necessary at this stage to collect your belongings or return the keys.  Your room / apartment will remain as it is and as soon as the government restrictions are lifted we will let you know. But you can't get into your room/apartment without informing us in advance (housing@cut.ac.cy, tel. 25 002412)
  5. For any reason you wish to stay in your room / apartment until your contract expires (end of June), you should pay the fourth installment.  However, due to the circumstances, the repayment deadline is extended to 31 May 2020.

The Student Services intends to submit a recommendation to the relevant University bodies for the settlement of the fourth installment / payment invoice for those students who have left their rooms / apartments in the halls by 31 March 2020. Please note that this university body may except or reject our recommendation.
