Use of rooms in the Student Development Center

In the area of ​​the Student Development Center there are four study rooms, of which three are for priority use for tutoring support and in general the programs organized and offered by the Center. One of the four study rooms is for exclusive use for study and tutoring support by students with disabilities due to the specialized equipment and furniture of the space (Study Room for Students with Disabilities/Disability Center).

1. Reservation and Use of Common Study Rooms

  1. The students of the University have the right to reserve and use it to meet the needs of group study. For the consideration of a reservation request, the number of persons must be at least three (3) persons.
  2. Room reservations are made through a written request to the Student Development Center, by completing the relevant online application. Room reservation cancellations must be made 24 hours before the day and time of the reservation.
  3. The reservation will be made by a single person who will represent the group that will be in the room at the specific time and day. The group representative will state the details of the rest in the application. No more than one reservation per day by a group consisting of the same persons is allowed.
  4. The maximum capacity is twelve (12) in Hall 4, eight (8) people in Hall 3 and ten (10) people in Hall 2.
  5. The maximum reservation time from the same group is two (2) hours on the same day and the minimum is 30 minutes. In case the group wants an extension, they can stay in the room until there is a request from another group that wants to study there.
  6. Everyone is responsible for following the rules for the use of the rooms and is held responsible for any material damage or dirtiness in the area. Therefore, everyone will bear the financial responsibility of replacing or repairing or cleaning the premises.
  7. The space is ideal for group study and task preparation. For this reason, each group must respect the groups in the other rooms as well as the support programs that take place in the Student Development Center. Therefore, there must be silence (no music, cell phones on silent, low volume).
  8. Food and drink are not allowed in the halls or in the waiting area.
  9. Furniture may not be moved from one room to another, and stationery and other Student Development Center items may not be used.
  10. After the use of a room by each group, a check of furniture and cleanliness of the room will be carried out. Where damage/uncleanness is observed (eg writing on furniture, dirt on furniture and on walls, broken furniture), the responsibility will be taken by the team with its representative.
  11. Group representatives and group members who cause disturbance in the area and do not follow the rules for the use of study rooms will be observed. If they do not comply with the rules, their name will be recorded and their future room request will not be accepted.
  12. There is no charge for the use of the hall by the students.
  13. Rooms 2,3 and 4 are not reserved/used for purposes other than tutoring support and group study during the academic semester. They can be given for seminars, events and other uses during the Christmas and Easter holiday periods and during the month of August.
  14. During peak periods, it is possible for a room to be used by a number of separate people for individual study (eg 10 different people study individually in the same room).

 

2. Room for Students with Disabilities (Room 1)

All of the above apply with the difference that:

2.1 People with disabilities, learning difficulties or medical problems have the opportunity to request a reservation for individual study and use of the Students with Disabilities Room. It is not booked by other people.

2.2 The room is also used for individual examination only for disabled students.

 

3. Individual examination

Students with serious learning or medical problems may, after consultation with the course coordinators, sit for an individual exam for each course at the Student Development Center. The exam will take place during business hours and days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30-15:00 and Wednesday 8:30-14:30, 15:00-18:00). The supervision of the examination is undertaken financially by the Student Development Center which will collaborate with a postgraduate student or VET or EU partner of the Student Development Center or a person indicated by the respective course manager If a transcriber is required, he/she is an undergraduate or postgraduate student or VET or EE partner of the Student Development Center or a person who will be indicated by the person in charge of the course. The transcriber or invigilator of the exam does not have knowledge of the exam material. The paper will be delivered to the proctor of the exam from the Student Development Center 15 minutes before the exam, and will be returned by the proctor to the Student Development Center at the end of the exam.
