THE CORNELL METHOD (Note Taking System)

A. Divide the paper into two columns 

  • The right part should be bigger
  • Right side: Notes
  • Left side: Keywords

B. Registration

  • Write notes on the right side

C. Reduction

  • Transfer the key words from right to left after the lesson

D. Recitation

  • Search for information using keywords

E. Reflection

  • Relate it to your own experiences, add your own thoughts

St. Repetition

  • Use the left side during the semester
     

THE SQ3R METHOD (Study System for the Classroom)

A. Research: 

  1. Go through the headings and main topics of the chapter
  2. Read the summary paragraph at the end of each chapter
  3. Notice the central ideas of each chapter
  4. A sense of what exactly the chapter wants to explain

B. Question:

  1. Create a question from each heading/chapter title
  2. Ask who, what, why, how, when?
  3. Think about what message the author wants to convey to you

C. Read

  1. Read the chapter to answer the questions you created
  2. Use your own words to express your thought

D. Repetition

  1. Look at your notes again
