First Annual Workshop on Dual Use Marine Technologies in Cyprus

8-9 November 2018

Auditorium 1

Tassos Papadopoulos Building (Cyprus University of Technology)

The main objective of this workshop is to bring together marine technology providers and operators to share the latest advancements and user requirements of dual use marine technology.

Advanced scientific tools can be used for more than just specialized research projects, but also persistent environmental monitoring and even coastal and off-shore safety and security applications. The marine monitoring and surveillance industry is undergoing a rapid shift to more autonomous, multi-use systems which brings new monitoring capabilities as well as new operational requirements. At the same time, marine operators have been experiencing reduced operational budgets, and more demanding requirements for monitoring for environmental, safety, and security incidents. After a series of short presentations of recent technological developments, attendees will be able to discuss their views of the potential challenges and benefits of the above, as well as to ask technical questions. We will invite local and European off-shore operators, academic researchers, and Cyprus authorities related to research, monitoring, and security of the sea to join our panel of European marine technology companies, service providers, and researchers.

Registration is free (Deadline: Oct. 30).

Due to limited seat availability early registration is recommended. RSVP to: Andreas.Prodromou@cut.ac.cy.
