7. Creating Bibliographical References

a) How do I find bibliographical references?

Note all references in full as you find them, even if you are not sure how useful they might be. Also, keep a note of where you find all references.

Guide for finding bibliographical references

Description

Scopus

Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of research literature and quality web sources. It's designed to find the information scientists need. Quick, easy and comprehensive, Scopus provides superior support of the literature research process. Updated daily.

b) How do I manage my bibliographic data?

Keep your references in a notebook or database. If you take a photocopy, make sure that you keep a note of the periodical title and volume number, or book details, from which it was taken, in case you wish to cite it. It can be very difficult to check back later.

  • A complete reference for a book generally includes author, initials, title, edition (if not first), place of publication, publisher and year of publication. e.g.

Kinghorn, S. Ανακουφιστική νοσηλευτική : εξασφαλίζοντας ελπίδα και ποιότητα ζωής . Αθήνα : Βήτα, 2004.

  • A complete reference for a periodical article includes author and title of the article, periodical title, volume and part number, year and pages, e.g.

Pirret A. M. The emerging role of the intensive care nurse practitioner.Australian Critical Care V.21(3), 2008, 125.
